REFLECTION APPLICATION OF ICT

For the first time entering the class I think we will start with learning multimedia application. Then, Dr Sopia explained to us what will we learned in this course. In this course we will discusses about the advantages of ICT application in Science education. So, the next class after this we will learn using simulation, modeling, spreadsheets, data logger, interactive white board and other ICT applications. All of this application is new to me and I do not really familiar with all those application. By entering this class I hope I can know the concept or knowledge about all the application and can used it in my assignment and practicum season next year. For me, nowadays ICT application is important for educational because most of student today have their own notebook and can access to the internet every time and even they are more advance in using ICT then teacher . So, teacher should take this opportunity and applied this ICT application during their teaching in the class to attract student’s attention.
The first ICT application that I learned was interactive white board (IWB) .It also come with the smart lesson activity tool kits that have lots of interactive slide used in the presentation. The first time using IWB was quiet difficult because we do not really master the content of application. Using IWB is so interesting and has improved a lot from Microsoft PowerPoint and it is touch screen where it uses touch detection for user input – e.g. scrolling, right mouse-click – in the same way normal PC input devices, such as a mouse or keyboard, detect input. This IWB application is more convenience and creative for me and it comes with four pens, which use digital ink and replace traditional whiteboard markers. For the first presentation using IWB we just using the basic thing in IWB and after seeing other groups were advanced in using it we start to explore everything that we can make using IBW to make sure our next presentation using fully IWB application . IWB allows us to work with large amounts of information, offers an information space that invites active collaboration, and the work produced is often “dynamic and contingent. We also have the opportunity to engage with the technology by direct manipulation.
Then, we learned make teaching portfolio using blog. Each of us have to make their own teaching portfolio and filled it will all information using ICT application and all the activities that we had done from the beginning until this semester for our courses. Before this I also have my own blog that I used to share some information with the other so it is easy for me because I have some knowledge about how to make a blog. We can put all the educational information in this blog and share with the other. It is the best ways that we can do to share information that we know with the other and get the feedback from them.

Next, we learned using data logger when doing an experiment. This is not by first time I am using data logger in the class. Before this I have used it when doing physic experiment while I am taking physic course before. A data logger is an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrumental sensor or via external instruments and sensors. Increasingly, but not entirely, they are based on a digital processor (or computer).  At first we learned how to use it properly and its function before we start with our experiment using data logger. Data logger helped us to get more accurate results when recorded the data taken and avoid bias because we can takes all the data of different sensors at the same graph and save more time. Using data logger will give us more benefit compare when we doing it manually. One of the primary benefits of using data loggers is the ability to automatically collect data on a 24-hour basis. Upon activation, data loggers are typically deployed and left unattended to measure and record information for the duration of the monitoring period. This allows for a comprehensive, accurate picture of the environmental conditions being monitored, such as air temperature and relative humidity. Using data logger in our experiment helped us a lot and it save our times done the experiment.

REFLECTION DATA LOGGER

REFLECTION DATA LOGGER
This is not by first time I am using data logger in the class. Before this I have used it when doing physic experiment while I am taking physic course before. What is data logger? A data logger is an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrumental sensor or via external instruments and sensors. Increasingly, but not entirely, they are based on a digital processor (or computer). They generally are small, battery powered, portable, and equipped with a microprocessor, internal memory for data storage, and sensors. Some data loggers interface with a personal computer and utilize software to activate the data logger and view and analyze the collected data, while others have a local interface device (keypad, LCD) and can be used as a stand-alone device.
There are many applications using data logger nowadays because it helps our daily life become more systematic. The example of application using data logger are unattended weather station recording (such as wind speed / direction, temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation), unattended hydrographic recording (such as water level, water depth, water flow, water pH, water conductivity), unattended soil moisture level recording, road traffic counting, measure temperatures (humidity, etc) of perishables during shipments: Process monitoring to verify warranty conditions, deformation of any object with geodetic or geotechnical sensors controlled by an automatic deformation monitoring system and many more.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I am an ordinary person that has high desired to become true teacher that defends my pupils against my own personal influence. For me learning is a social process that occurs through interpersonal interaction within a cooperative context. Individuals, working together, construct shared understandings and knowledge. Not everyone can be a good teacher unless she has feelings of warm affection toward her pupils and a genuine desire to impart to them what she himself believes to be of value. The task of the excellent teacher is to stimulate "apparently ordinary" people to unusual effort. I will try my best to become excellent teacher..insyaALLAH..

REFLECTION

INTERACTIVE WHITE BOARD

This is my first time using Interactive White Board (IWB). The Smart Board is an interactive whiteboard that uses touch detection for user input – e.g. scrolling, right mouse-click – in the same way normal PC input devices, such as a mouse or keyboard, detect input. A projector is used to display a computer's video output on the interactive whiteboard, which then acts as a large touch screen.
The Smart Board interactive whiteboard typically comes with four pens, which use digital ink and replace traditional whiteboard markers. Most Smart Board interactive whiteboards register only one touch at a time however, in June 2009; Smart Technologies introduced their first dual-touch interactive whiteboard. The dual-touch Smart Board interactive whiteboard accepts two simultaneous touches; however, the touches only register on two separate sides of the interactive whiteboard surface. The Smart Board 800 series is the latest interactive whiteboard comes with only two pens. Users can select the ink color they want to use - red, blue, green or black - by pressing the corresponding button on the pen tray. Multiple users cannot write in different colored ink at the same time.
The interactive nature of the Smart Board provides many practical uses for the classroom. Using Smart Notebook software, teachers can record each step of a lesson activity for students to review at a later time. The Smart Board allows users to work with large amounts of information, offers an information space that invites active collaboration, and the work produced is often “dynamic and contingent. Users also have the opportunity to engage with the technology by direct manipulation. Moreover, this space allows for more than one user; essentially, it invites multiple users.
